Meet Dr. Haney

Eric Haney grew up in Southern California and attended UCLA where he received his bachelor’s degree in biochemistry. He went on to Columbia University in New York where he received his dental degree.

Afterwards, he served as a general dentist in the United States Air Force. Initially, he was stationed in Biloxi Mississippi where he completed an Advanced General Dentistry residency. His following duty stations were Kunsan, Korea and Fort Walton Beach, Florida.

His next stop was the ‘Bay Area’ where he attended UCSF for his orthodontic residency and obtained a masters degree in Oral and Craniofacial Sciences. He completed a research study titled, “Comparative Analysis of Traditional Radiography and Volumetric Cone Beam Computed Tomography in the Diagnosis and Treatment Planning of Impacted Maxillary Cuspids.” This study has earned honors, including the Thomas M. Graber Award of Special Merit. He has presented his research at annual meetings for the American Association of Orthodontists and the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons.

Dr. Haney is a board-certified orthodontist and a diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics. He is also a faculty member at UCSF in the Division of Orthodontics and serves on the Marin County Dental Society’s board of directors.

In his free time, Dr. Haney spends time with his wife Shabnam, their son Caden and dog Oofy. He also enjoys running, biking, and hiking.
